Summary
Excerpts from Supreme Master Ching Hai’s lecture:
Our life, our time here, is very short so we have to make the best use of it. Don't ask people to serve us. We have to ask how we can serve people all the time and we'll never go wrong. What do we need, that people have to serve us? We don't need anything! We have enough clothes, enough food, and that's all. And the rest of the time, we have to develop ourselves spiritually. And then we have to use our spare time to serve the world, both inside and outside. Inside, we use our wisdom, our good vibration, our virtues, to bless the people and the environment. Outside, we use our time, our physical fitness, our cleverness, our talents, to help wherever and whenever we can. If we do this wholeheartedly, we will always feel fulfilled, satisfied, and we will never ask for anything, and always feel we have enough. If we keep demanding people to serve us, we will always be in misery, always disappointed, always have trouble. We provide for the people, and God will provide for us. That is the way of working in the universe. The system of the world will thus run very smoothly, and no one will ever lack anything.
Highlights
We ought to be the forerunners, leaders of the world, leading the world into a new age with a new spirit of serving and loving each other. We have to show others how to be noble, how to sacrifice, and how to love. As long as we live, we must dedicate our whole to the goodness and progress of mankind, the whole world, and the whole universe. Our vision must be great, greater than life; must be so noble that we have nothing else to lose. We fear nothing in such greatness of a vision. Every obstacle becomes so small in such a vision.
