Highlights:

Supreme Master Ching Hai tells a story named‘Love and Hatred’ about the past life of Shakyamuni Buddha. Why did King Chang-Shou, who governed the country with kindness, decided to give up the throne to the king of a nearby country in face of his war declaration? King Chang-Shou took Prince Chang-Sheng to retreat in a forest and concentrated on spiritual practice. But how did the cruel new king find King Chang-Shou and put him to death? What loving teaching did King Chang-Shou give to his prince before his execution? How did Prince Chang-Sheng, who personally witnessed his father’s death, return to the court and gain the new king’s trust? Could the prince let go of his hatred in face of a chance of revenge? Why did the new king give the throne back to the Prince after knowing his true identity?

Most spiritual practitioners advise us not to rely on the worldly possession, position or wealth for fear that we might be obsessed with it. But actually there’s no need of advise people . Because if one is obsessed, he would keep obsessed even if you dissuade him ; if he is not obsessed, he would not fall even if you encouraged him to. Only those who are sincere to practice the Tao already know about this world clearly so they seek only for treasures above this world. Then that is his own choice. He throws away his own worldly possessions, or he will not be obsessed even if he has it. Only those people will listen to what we have to say, otherwise, if his heart is not ready yet, even if we talked for half a year, the result will be not much difference, only wasting our breath.
