Why does Supreme Master Ching Hai consistently emphasize the importance of meditation and say that we should meditate whenever possible? Can an enlightened master be unaffected by karmic retribution if the master reaches a very high level?

The Supreme Master said, "Even if I go very high and I have countless spiritual merit points, it has nothing to do with karma (retribution). I can be very high, but if I have you as disciples, or I want to help the world, I still have to take the bad karma of that. The spiritual merit points stay there, for saving souls in the future, for many things. Save the world, save the souls, save the people, but not to save me. It doesn’t work like that. So I have to meditate to earn it, to counter-effect.”
