On October 25, 2018, the 25th Anniversary of Supreme Master Ching Hai Day, our Association members around the world came together in Kaohsiung, Taiwan (Formosa) to celebrate this meaningful day with heartfelt programs. The Supreme Master Ching Hai Day was first proclaimed on October 25, 1993 by the Honorable Frank Fasi, the esteemed 9th Mayor of Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. This special day recognizes and honors Supreme Master Ching Hai's selfless contributions to the world. Supreme Master Ching Hai lovingly connected with everyone via livestream. “The Ching Hai Day is not only my day. It's your day. It's everyone's day.”
Amidst innumerable times of fervent praying, the Divine Blossom has descended onto our earth. Next is a folk dance from China, entitled “The Lotus in Amah’s Buddha Heart.” Our animal co-inhabitants on this planet are God sent companions to us. Similarly, the Thai people regard peacocks as holy birds, representing kindness, wisdom, happiness and fortune. Please enjoy the Spirit of the Peacock by our fellow initiate. To express their nostalgia for their spiritual home, the beautiful Hakka girls from Kaohsiung will perform the dance “Young Girls Miss Home” using oil-paper umbrellas that represent the Hakka culture.
"The Silent Tears" is a poetry collection by Supreme Master Ching Hai, describing Her journey searching for Enlightenment. In the Musical, the poem "Enlightenment" was set to music by Composer Henry Krieger - twice Grammy winner. Now, let us enjoy the graceful dance steps of the Aulacese fellow practitioners and join together in “Enlightenment” music. Let’s give a hearty round of applause to fellow initiates from Soul, Korea who joyously present their performance “The Sunshine in the Corner”. “…The life of your own won’t make you happy. Do not turn away any more. Turn and face the people around you. With courage, take one step further. Because our small steps make a difference.”
Now we’ll have fellow initiates from Formosa, Âu Lạc (Vietnam) and Thailand, taking turns to sing classical songs composed by Master, to convey the gratitude of disciples to a living Master rare to find in a thousand years, who has bestowed eternal loving care to sentient beings. Let’s all raise our hands and sing cheerfully together. “…Love is stone and rough gravel. Love is silky gold. …Love is like a gentle breeze, But love too is like a hurricane! In the morning, love is still there, And then quietly dies at night. …Love makes us miss each other, But love also wants us to soon forget. Love is filled with turmoil, Love too is so serene! …”
