Supreme Master Ching Hai hopes and encourages spiritual practitioners to have a positive attitude and to be optimistic. We should say positive and nice words instead of negative ones. If we want to improve our practice and avoid Maya's hindrance, we should have a positive attitude to scare ghosts and demons away. Then they dare not bother us even if they come. When our positive power is strong, they will be scared away.
The vibration of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is very subtle, while the vibration of ordinary people is too coarse. The moment our heart gets excited, we can’t catch up with them. We should be peaceful in our spiritual practice and train ourselves to be calm, to have determination and self-confidence instead of the attachment that grabs things anxiously. If we have too many expectations, it will be the same as being greedy. "Expectation" means that we want to become a Buddha tomorrow, or better yet, yesterday. "Relaxation" means that if I try to do my best, I will surely become a Buddha someday. It is possible that we have already become a Buddha, but have just forgotten about it because we are too anxious, looking outward for Buddhas, so we should calm down a little.
